And my prescription is finally here....

Just after midday, I received my delivery of Farm Gas from Mamedica. So, from the initial repeat prescription ordered on 11th September, it’s taken 9 working days for me to receive my order, but just under two weeks in total. I’m not sure how I feel about that – on the one hand, when it’s considered in working days, that feels like far longer than all of the blurb says. And when you just think of it in terms of ‘normal’ time, that’s nearly a fortnight. So much for next day delivery.

Last night, I vaped some purple milk with a peach topper, and that stuff took my head off. Not helped by the two baby Guinness I had (Stripes found a baby Guinness kit at B&M so we treated ourselves to three of them). Gidget showed off her bartending skills and it was pretty darn impressive the way she made this baby Guinness look! Of course, I then dunked my finger in it which messed it up a little! And as neither of us like coffee liqueurs, the best way to drink them was to either slam them down or mix them so we couldn’t taste the Tia Maria.

We were messing about with the exercise resistance bands I bought a week or so ago, which to be perfectly honest added to my general exhaustion so it’s no wonder I went to sleep around 2.30 am and didn’t wake up until 10.30 am this morning!

Tonight, I want to give the Farm Gas a try, with nothing else on top of it. I shall have to keep my high thoughts notebook with me so that I can keep track of anything that particularly strikes me!

more order issues - sigh...

20/09/24
Well so much for promises. Okay, I know that when I spoke to the nice lady from customer service way back on 24th August, she told me that they were implementing system changes to ensure that payments not made through their Crezco system would be automatically allocated to the correct invoices. I know that such things take time but I would have thought ensuring that their payment system works in such a basic manner would be pretty high up on the list of things to be done.

I placed an order for some Farm Gas on 11th September and waited for the invoice. I received that on 14th September. Obviously, in that time Crezco hasn’t suddenly added my bank to their list of accepted places, so I had to request the alternative payment method. The second invoice was received on 16th September at close of business (around 6.00 pm) and I paid it first thing on 17th and received confirmation that the transaction was completed.

Time to sit and wait.

By this morning (Friday 20th September) I hadn’t heard anything. By this time, I was expecting to have received the email from Royal Mail letting me know that they had my parcel and when they expected to deliver it. I contemplated waiting a bit longer – perhaps things were a little backed up – but realised if I wasn’t careful, this wouldn’t be sorted out before the weekend and it might well be the middle of next week before I got such confirmation from Royal Mail.

So I joined the twenty seven people waiting in the queue to speak to someone in the Dispensary. TWENTY SEVEN people ahead of me in the queue with an estimated waiting time of 35 minutes. I almost put the phone down but decided that was defeatist, lobbed my headphones and began to work on some fan-art. It was actually interesting being on hold with it on speaker because I could tell when someone gave up on ever having their call answered and hung up and when things were a ‘quick’ call by the speed with which I moved up the queue. It did actually take just under thirty minutes so at least the estimate was correct.

I spoke to a very helpful lady called Kay who checked their system and confirmed that the payment hadn’t been received. I explained about the alternative payment method and how normally the payment didn’t get automatically allocated, provided the invoice number and the amount and she found the payment straight away. And, once again, it was received but not allocated, which meant it sat in limbo not in my bank account but in theirs. I expressed my disappointment that once again this had happened and she apologised and said she would try to get me onto the ‘urgent’ list for the day.

I’m once again waiting for the email from Royal Mail to confirm that my Farm Gas is en route, but at least now I know the payment has been allocated. So, what’s a reasonable amount of time to give Mamedica to sort out this whole payments system? And I find myself wondering if changing pharmacies is even worth it – are there the same issues with other companies? Admittedly, I’m in a relatively enviable position of having a small stash of products, albeit not necessarily the strains that I want. I wonder how bad it gets for people who use more than I do and don’t have a backlog? Again, I find myself thinking that this wouldn’t be acceptable for any other service that I can think of.

I guess as long as I’m only using minimal amounts, it’s probably not worth moving but it’s something to think about in the new year – assuming that I keep receiving the same level of PiP which is a whole other battle!
