Althea 25% THC <1% CBD ⟫ Powdered Donuts

Fresh ‘green’ taste and smell, this was very smooth on the throat. Gives a peaceful warmth throughout the body – my knees felt as though they were being supported/held by my heated blanket. I also found that my mind wasn’t racing as much as usual – that, or I just couldn’t grab onto any of the thoughts to stress about them! Within 30 minutes, bed-lock occurs and, if timed correctly, a very peaceful, easy slide into sleep. If badly timed, I still enjoyed watching TV with a lack of pain and no racing mind. Have re-ordered as this may well be one of my favourites for the time being.

Adven Cura T16 25% THC <1% CBD ⟫ Strawberry OG

Strange one. Pleasant enough taste although a little harsh. Again, used in both the Mighty and the Arizer Extreme. Gives a nice, mellow high, warm feeling through the body. Surprisingly, not as ‘mind quieting’ as I expected and the effects were very short-lasting.

Adven EMB-1 5% THC 10% CBD ⟫ Best Choice

This was a bit of a disappointment. I ordered it as the Pedanios was out of stock and the pharmacist/physician suggested it as a replacement. I don’t know if it was the CBD outweighing the THC, but I felt very little in the way of effects: very little pain relief and my mind was still racing. I can’t see myself ordering this one again.

Adven Cura T18 27% THC <1% CBD ⟫ OG Kush

Pungent smell, small dark looking trees – the ‘bushes’ seemed very tightly packed so 10g didn’t look like a lot in the tub. There seemed to be no flavour which was a surprise considering the smell. This was vaped using my Mighty and my Arizer Extreme and each time, it felt very sharp at the back of my throat. Now some of this might have been because I had a chest infection at the time which made me cough a lot. There was a general mellow feeling that I’m pretty sure would have knocked me out cold if I hadn’t been re-watching Alias and determined not to sleep each time. This meant I didn’t ‘power down’ when the full effects were taking place. I remember the episodes I watched, so there’s that!

Strains Review ⟫ November 2023 ⟫ Aurora Pedanios

I’m going to try to do a review of some of the strains that I have tried since beginning medicinal cannabis. It might not be all of the ones that I have tried as I neglected to review them as I went along. These opinions are my own based on my reactions and I cannot speak to the effects on other people.

For reference, I suffer from osteoarthritis in both knees, sciatica, and herniated discs which altogether often feel like someone is taking a hammer to at least one part of my body at all times. Add to that, my mind races with anxiety over just about everything and I suffer from depression – those are my main reasons for using medicinal cannabis.

The THC and CBD percentage levels are what were printed on the Mamedica website and tubs provided.

Aurora Pedanios 8% THC 8% CBD ⟫ Hybrid Flower

Taste-wise, this seemed to be nothing to write home about. Effects-wise, however, I have no idea how people vape this and then go on to do something productive. It’s extremely relaxing, which for me translates into no longer feeling the constant dull pain from my knees. I was generally body-locked within 30 minutes, whether I had prepared my bed or not! I could still function but only in the basic sense – I could easily doom-scroll for a couple of hours and not remember a damned thing I read!
